Katie Banks

Katie Banks is VP of Global People & Workplace at Nitro heading up the Global People Ops function across 3 continents and 17 countries, where she has global responsibility for the development, implementation and monitoring of Nitro’s People Programs & Strategies and is a core member of Nitro’s Leadership Team, helping them to achieve organisational goals through effective People strategies, providing HR guidance as needed for effective decision making while also sharing collective responsibility to deliver the organisation's strategy and vision.

Moving the dial from the Traditional HR Approach to a more People Centric & Holistic Employee Experience, for all employees is rooted in Katie’s philosophy, be it in driving change or evolving processes.

Katie comes from a professional services background having spent a lot of time in previous roles working on employee empowerment and engagement. As is testament to her passion for people and growth, she spends her personal time reading and learning about coaching, mentoring, career development and job transitioning which has helped in a personal capacity guide peers, friends and family.

Katie was a nominee for “Outstanding Returner of the Year” in the 2021 Women In Tech Excellence Awards which recognizes someone who provides an inspirational example of returning successfully to a career after starting – or expanding – a family, highlighting both personal commitment and drive as well as dedication and support by the organisation.

Katie has also featured in “Employee Experience – Develop a happy, productive and supported workforce for exceptional individual and business performance” by Ben Whitter, where she talks about placing employee experience in the center of any approach to HR ensuring that the human experience is considered in every aspect of the decision-making process.
