Paul Bailey

Paul Bailey is Head of Global Marketing & Communications at IDA Ireland where he has overall responsibility for marketing of Ireland as a leading FDI location for multinational companies to invest in and to drive business from. This includes developing the organisation’s international and domestic communication strategies through effective marketing, PR, brand building and social media optimisation, ensuring engagement with the widest and most appropriate target audiences across the globe.

Prior to joining IDA Ireland, Paul was Head of Communications of the Irish League of Credit Unions (ILCU), where his primary responsibility was the development of through the line national strategic marketing campaigns for the B2C market and tactical campaigns for B2B (credit unions) locally.

From 2015 to 2018, Paul was Head of Press and Media Relations with the Health Service Executive (HSE) where he and his team dealt with over 2,500 press queries annually. Paul joined the HSE from the Department of Health where he was Head of Press & Media Relations from 2013.

Paul Bailey’s previous appointments include Employee Relations Manager, FAS (2008–2013); Director of BOND, a charity providing services to young people in Blanchardstown (2006–2008); Head of Communication and Participation at the Ombudsman for Children Office (2005-2006); Executive Director, Child Protection Office, Irish Bishops’ Conference (2001-2005); Dublin Regional Administrator, Society of St Vincent de Paul (1999-2001); Executive Director, Los Angeles Society for Homeless Boys (1997-1999); Deputy Director (Care) of Oberstown Boys Centre (1991-1997).

Paul also held roles as a Social Care Worker in Oberstown Girls Centre (1990-1991) and in Trinity House School (1984-1990).

Paul holds a BA Management (IMI), Post Graduate Diploma in Child Protection (TCD), MSc Mediation & Conflict Intervention (NUI Maynooth) and a Diploma in Company Direction (Institute of Directors).
